EXPLORE ANCIENT WORLDS

Strengthen your understanding of the patterns of ancient civilizations through primary sources, creative activities and scholarly inquiry. Designed specifically for middle scholl social studies classes.

My teaching PHILOSOPHY

UNCOVERING THE PAST THROUGH INQUIRY

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that history is not just events in time, but a complex system of societal patterns that can be uncovered and compared through human inquiry. Through analyzing primary sources and examining the evolution of various ancient civilizations, students develop a methodical approach to understanding how societies rise, fall, and transform over time. I emphasize critical thinking and student engagement to ensure that every lesson builds a foundation for lifelong historical literacy.

Lesson Plans & Resources

Comprehensive guides and primary source materials designed to deepen students' understanding of ancient societal patterns and historical inquiry.

Greek Mythology Choice Board

A detailed 10-day curriculum covering Greek Mythology. Students don't just read about deities of the past but instead use creative activites that leave students asking meaningful historical-based questions. On this choice board students are given the choice between creating digital Instagram profiles for various mythological creatures and characters from Greece, desinging a hoodie based on symbology from a Greek God/Goddess or holding an AI-based chat session (The Oracle) with a Greek God/Goddess.

Ancient Rome Netflix Inquiry Project

Welcome to the production team! In this Inquiry-Based Project, you aren't just a student—you are a Content Creator. Your mission is to pitch and develop a "Netflix Original" series that explores the fascinating world of Ancient Rome (625 BC – AD 476).

Through the lens of Inquiry, you will move beyond simple facts. You will generate your own questions, investigate deep historical mysteries, and ultimately explain how the rise and fall of the Roman Empire forever changed the world we live in today.
